Why is there such a difference in price in seed beads from different sellers? Seed beads massively vary in quality, depending on how they were made. As a general rule of thumb, Japanese seed beads are the best quality and, although they're expensive, you get what you pay for. What on earth is going on with seed bead sizes? They're a bit odd aren't they? The sizes come from the Victorian bead measurement of 'by the inch' so a standard size 11, roughly translates to 11 beads per inch... which is why 15's are smaller and 8's are bigger.
